The Vienna Boys Choir in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of KotorA Landmark Moment in Austria–Montenegro Cultural Relations

On 13 February 2027, the Vienna Boys’ Choir will perform in Montenegro for the first time, presenting a concert at the historic Cathedral of Saint Tryphon in Kotor.

This landmark debut brings together one of Europe’s most prestigious and historic musical institutions with the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kotor. It unites the living tradition of world-class choral music, recognized as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, with one of the Adriatic’s most remarkable historic urban ensembles, celebrating the enduring cultural ties between Austria and Montenegro, which have continued to flourish through artistic exchange and cultural cooperation in recent years.

The performance will also be broadcast live to Kotor’s main square, enabling a wider audience to share in this exceptional occasion. More than a concert, the event celebrates the shared European heritage that connects Vienna and Kotor through music, history, and culture.
