Born in Vienna as the second child of an Egyptian mother and a Tyrolean father, I discovered my passion for the Russian language by accident. After living in Moscow and breathing Russian culture, I applied for a job at an international artist and event agency that also had a large roster of world-renowned Russian artists and ensembles. The spark that connects people and artists across cultural borders has grown into a fire that inspires me in many projects.
Since 2006 I have been working in the field of international cultural management. First at an artist and event agency in Vienna, then in the programming department of the Brucknerhaus Linz, the second largest concert hall in Austria, and then in the team of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.
With Artia Promotions I started my own agency in 2016. I work with renowned artists, venues and festivals, mainly in Central Europe, Russia and the Middle East.
I studied Slavic and Romance Studies at the Universities of Vienna and Moscow. After research in libraries and archives in Europe and the USA, I received my PhD in Russian Literature from the University of Vienna. My research interests include Russian émigré literature, children’s literature, and questions of Russian cultural identity.(book).
Besides my family, languages, traveling and martial arts are an integral part of my life.
